What is a Portrait Party? A Home Portrait Party is a fun and convenient way to have beautiful, professional portraits created of your children, your family, or yourself! The event takes place at the hostess's home or another agreed upon location. There is NO SESSION FEE or minimum order for the hostess or any of the guests. During each 20 minute mini-session, images of groups, individuals or a combination of both can be taken. Guest Information As a guest at a Portrait Party, you have the benefit of a comfortable, friendly setting for you and/or your family to have beautiful, professional portraits created. In addition to the portraits, you'll have a chance to have fun with your friends! The sitting fee is complimentary and there is no obligation to place an order. Proofs will be available online within 1-5 days and you will be provided with your own access code so your proofs remain private. Orders must be placed with your hostess by the deadline provided by your hostess and your prints will be available within 2 weeks. Please view the Session Tips page for helpful tips on what to wear and other ideas for your mini-session. Due to the time constraints of a 20-minute mini-session, wardrobe changes are NOT recommended. Hostess Benefits As the hostess of a Home Portrait Party event, you can expect a fun and fulfilling time with your friends and/or family with the added benefit of a reward for hosting the party. You will receive a credit of 15% of all sales (not including sales tax). This credit must be used towards the cost of prints of images captured during the event. Requirements of the Hostess The hostess will need to plan, host, and follow up on the party. Planning & Hosting The planning includes inviting the guests, providing information or directing the guests to the website for more information, and servering refreshments. A minimum of 6 guests/families must be invited to participate in the event. Appointments should be made 20 minutes apart and should be scheduled consecutively. A sign-up sheet will be provided to help with your invitations. The party will need to be held in your home or another location of your choosing that will allow photography. Your guests should feel free to arrive and leave around their reserved session time or stay throughout the party. I will arrive 1-2 hours before the event to setup my equipment and the area as well as to allow the hostess to have a more private session before the party begins. Only a single background will be used for all the sessions. I may bring a few props - depending on the type of party scheduled; but, the guests should feel free to bring whatever they would like to use during their session. Followup After the Party The proofs from all the sessions will be available online within 1-5 days after the party. Each guest will receive a special portrait party print pricelist, an order form, and instructions on how to access their online proofs. Each guest will have access to view only their proofs. The hostess will need to collect the print orders from each guest by the pre-determined "order by" date (approximately one week after the proofs are posted) to qualify towards the hostess's print credit. The day following the deadline, the online proofs will be removed and the guests will not be able to order any prints from their party session for 6 months. This is to help the hostess earn as much print credit as possible. Order Delivery Print orders will be processed and ready within 2 weeks. The hostess will pickup the orders from me to distribute the orders to the guests unless the guests would prefer to pickup their own orders or pay for shipping their orders to their home. Types of Parties The choice is up to you: Children, Family, Maternity, "Girl's Night Out", Boudoir, Holiday Inspired, etc. Be creative and have fun! (Just let me know when you call to schedule the party.) Scheduling / Appointments Portrait parties can be scheduled for Wednesday evenings, Friday mornings, and any part of the day on Saturday and Sunday.
